Jarold, an entrepreneur with a zest for life and a passion for innovation, was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS), a group of cancers characterized by the inability of immature blood cells in the bone marrow to mature into healthy blood cells. The diagnosis was a storm cloud in the vibrant sky of Jarold’s life, but his spirit remained unbroken. Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) offered a beacon of hope, a chance to replace the unhealthy blood-forming cells, potentially curing or delaying the relapse of MDS.

However, life had another trial in store for Jarold. Post-transplant, he developed Graft versus Host Disease (GvHD), a systemic disorder where the graft immune cells recognize the host as foreign and attack the recipient body cells. It was a battle against time and fate, a journey through uncharted waters of pain and hope.

Jarold’s entrepreneurial spirit and relentless fight for life became the compass guiding Joelle and John through the tempest. Watching their father, a beacon of strength and innovation, fight the relentless battle instilled in them a profound understanding of resilience, the importance of family, and the value of time.
