Colonel Evans (Ret) commanded the 175th Network Warfare Squadron at the National Security Agency for six years.  He currently serves on the George Washington University Active Defense Task Force. While Commander, he served as the Director of Operational Policy, Tailored Access Operations (TAO) (2008 to 2012) and Senior Adviser, NSA Threat Operations Centers (NTOC) (2006-2008).  Additionally, he represented NSA cyber organizations as a member of the White House National Security Staff Sub-Interagency Policy Committee on both offensive and defense cybersecurity issues.

Prior to that, then Major Evans spent fourteen years on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He served with the Western Area Counsel Office (WACO), Navy Office of the General Counsel for six years as litigation counsel.  As a Marine Corps Captain, he spent two years as the Commanding Officer, Headquarters and Service (H&S) Company, H&S Battalion, at Camp Pendleton, California during Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield.

Tim is married, has a nine year old son and lives in Arlington, Virginia.  He has completed ten (10) Marine Corps Marathons.
